Well, I am officially 40. I am actually pretty happy about this. I wondered if I would make it this far. I am happy to say I did. I found out that U2 was pretty excited about this event and they wrote a song about it.

I also found out David wrote a Psalm about it:

40 I waited patiently for the Lord;
he inclined to me and heard my cry.
2 He drew me up from the pit of destruction,
out of the miry bog,

A Song for my Wife

I Just Wanted to Beat Mark to the Punch!

Mark Freer is one of the better blues guitarists I know. He is a man who loves guitar, and watching him play it totally shows. He is one of those people who you can just tell gives it his all when he plays. Besides that, he is also a great pastor.

The reason I am posting this blog, though, is not just to tell you a little about my friend, but to beat him to the punch. He often posts YouTubes of some great music. To me, the song Voodoo Child is like a pinnacle of guitar playing. It has been done by the likes of Buddy Guy, Jimi Hendrix, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. I wanted to post the links of this song before Mark did. I am posting them in order of my favorites.

My friend Jeremy posted this a while back. I really have been thinking about it lately. I hear the comment, "it's just worship," a lot as though worship is some routine habit like anything else. I don't claim to be an expert on worship, but I think this video can say all I want to for the moment.

For Christmas I got a Microsoft Zune. It is a really neat thing. I can take it everywhere and even listen to it in my car. Like everyone who gets a new gadget, you want to know all of the ins and outs of what it can do.

Enter Podcasting. I have found some really good podcasts that I am enjoying. Some are sermon audio, and some are teaching. Some are news and some are entertainment.

If you are a total geek like me you really want to go to the next level. Since I am the webmaster at our church I thought I would use it as a pilot for podcasting. So, without further ado, here is the Lord of the Harvest Podcast
